ICTRA — Multimodal Seizure Monitoring Wearable

Biomedical engineering

A green microcontroller board on a wooden table, wired to three round electrode pads with green, yellow, and red snaps, and a small green sensor board.

Together with three other students, I developed ICTRA, a wearable research prototype that combines electroencephalography (EEG), electrocardiography (ECG), electromyography (EMG), and motion signals to investigate seizure prediction and monitoring. Using the SeizeIT2 dataset, comprising 11,626 hours of recordings from 125 patients, we developed a machine-learning pipeline to analyze physiological signals and explored integrating these capabilities into wearable hardware.

Our work led to an invitation to present ICTRA at the GLOCAL youth innovators showcase at Canada's Parliament, where we hope to share our approach to making neurological monitoring more accessible.
